Hello to all MKH Production Readers! In this edition, we are going to recap Yonsei GSIS ODAR ‘s Career Fair, which is regularly held each semester. The purpose of the Career Fair is to invite current Yonsei GSIS students and hear more about perspectives from their experience during their journey before joining Yonsei University , their graduate school days, what activities or internships they may have done. Finally, they discuss about their post grad experience – how to job search and what previous professional experiences or classes they have taken previously and how they leveraged these into their current roles. This semester, Naomi A. and Mingde Chong , the two assistants at Yonsei GSIS ODAR , helped organized the Career Fair and assistance was also provided from the team at Yonsei GSIS GSA and student assistants Yonsei GSIS Career Development Center .
Spring 2024 ODAR Career Fair
On May 17th, the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR) held its semesterly career fair, the 2024 Spring Career Fair. This event allowed students to discover various career paths and connect with distinguished alumni from diverse professional backgrounds. This year, six speakers representing both the public and private sectors were invited: Simone Liew , Dmitriy Kim , Eleonora Fasan , Paul Hussey , Grecia Dominique Paniagua García , and Joel Petersson Ivre .
General overview & Pictures from the event
The presentations were engaging and informative, particularly for the first-year students, who had plenty of questions for speakers on how to prepare best to enter the working world. Students got the opportunity to learn from these speakers who worked in either for a private or a public sector. As seen in the poster earlier in the beginning, the companies included: Samsung Electronics , OLIVER | The Brandtech Group , Asia-Pacific Leadership Network , Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC) , Green Climate Fund , and The New York Times
Dinner & Networking Time
After all speaker’s presentations were finished, the students met back in the 1st floor at another room to gather for a delicious dinner – Korean fried chicken, pizza, and soda. The evening concluded on a high note with dinner, networking, and a raffle event. The enthusiasm, curiosity, and determination displayed by all participants are the driving forces behind these events. We are confident that the connections and insights gained will serve as stepping stones for their successful future!
Conclusion
Congrats to all raffle winners and it really seems that everyone had a great time networking and in general enjoying a great evening with fellow alumnis, classmates, and friends.
Stay tuned for the next edition of MKH Edition!
